Dr. Fengfeng Zhou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana Tech University. He is the principal investigator of the PRISM Lab. He earned his Ph.D. degree from Purdue University in 2025. He has a cross-discipline background of optics (Ph.D. degree), mechanical engineering (Ph.D. degree), civil engineering (Master’s degree), and physics (Bachelor’s degree). His research focuses on optical monitoring and metrology of semiconductors, smart manufacturing, and integrated photonic systems.

Ph.D. Students
We are hiring two self-motivated Ph.D. students. Students with engineering or physics background are encouraged to apply. Our first project will focus on optical monitoring technology, including but not limited in fiber optic sensing, optical metrology, optical imaging. We will also apply optical monitoring systems for manufacturing technology to improve system intelligence and product quality. To apply, please send your CV to Dr. Zhou (fzhou@latech.edu), emails will be checked on a daily basis.
